Nooretet Kaura

From: Mairowa B sub-village, Ololosokwan

Nooretet lives in Mairowa B with her husband and seven children. She has six girls and one boy. Two of her children are in school and her family also has a herd of five cows. Before she began working with Maasai Honey, she struggled to feed her kids or cover medical expenses. Now, because of her work, she is able to feed them, send them to school, and help them when they are ill. Her favorite work activities are making candles and pressing honey. Although the work has immensely helped her family, it also brings challenges to her home life because her husband does not believe that women should hold jobs outside of the home. Still, Nooretet likes her job and is happy that she can support her children.
